Abstract:

61 Photographs (including 3 stereographs), primarily of western United States shells, plant life (mainly cactus); some California Indian artifacts and skulls. Many unidentified.
Ca. 250 drawings & lithographs, primarily of western United States shells, flora and fauna; some California Indian artifacts and archaeological finds.
2 albums (94 photographic prints, ca. 1885-1895), v. 1 chiefly of Mission Santa Barbara, various adobes in the town of Santa Barbara, and rural scenes outside Santa Barbara; v. 2 photographs taken by I.N. Cook on an expedition to the Channel Islands, Calif., with newspaper clippings, written by Yates, and photos of E.D. Rowe, Charles Stokes, H.C. Ford, and Yates.
